Hailing from old vines in what was once American's winemaking capital, this bottling is light in the glass and pops on the nose with licorice, wild herb and baked red fruit aromas. The palate is dry and tight with bright red fruit and toasted sagebrush flavors.

This is not your average Zinfandel. The grapes for this wine were picked earlier to retain higher acidity and to make more of a food friendly wine. This isn't your big, bold Zinfandel that smacks you over the head with oak and fruit. LePoidevin Cellars Lopez Ranch Cucamongo Valley Old Vine Zinfandel is a Zinfandel trying to be like a Pinot Noir, and it does that quite well. Think red fruit like rainier cherries, cranberry juice, and the classic Cucamonga dustiness.
